Jack Aces Formation Aerobatic Team

Louis Horschel

Louis has been an avid pilot for his whole life, flying with his father on a grass strip on their farm in Western New York since childhood. He soloed in a Citabria and still flies his Scout off that same strip today! Louis flies many types of planes, his favorite is flying aerobatic demonstrations in the WW2 fighters, the P51 Mustang “Mad Max” and the Corsair.

Louis flies the Lead for the JackAces Formation Aerobatic Team. He is also an assistant manager of the Navy’s “Navy Legacy Flight” program. Flying his FG1D Corsair leading formation flight profiles for Airshows with the EA18 Growlers, F18 Rhino’s and the F35C, “it is a great honor for me to be able to fly in the Navy’s Legacy Flight Program” we owe everything to our Military veteran’s past, present, and future.

Ariel Luedi

Ariel lives in Switzerland and commutes to the US for the training and airshows. Ariel worked as skydive instructor for many years but came late to flying himself. It all started 2008 with the purchase of a Bucker Jungmann bi-plane from the 1930s with which he participated in aerobatic competitions. Later he acquired a Sukhoi 29 & 26 and won 2012 the Swiss Aerobatic Nationals in the Advanced Category. Over the years he added a Bucker Jungmeister, an L-39C, Lockheed Electra 12A and a Pilatus PC-7 (similar to the Texan II) to his collection of planes. He is also the number 2 of the Swiss based 3-ship team SUBITO all flying the Pilatus PC-7.

Marco Rusconi

Marco grew up in Italy and learnt how to fly at an early age in a Tiger Moth biplane. He finished his schooling on Canada’s west coast and enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1997. He graduated Royal Military College in 2001 and earned his RCAF pilot wings in 2004. He served as a military instructor pilot, standards officer and as a course director at 2 CFFTS in Moose Jaw, SK. In 2007 Marco was fortunate to be selected by the Canada’s aerial demonstration squadron, the Snowbirds, to serve as the 4 and 7 pilot throughout the 2008-2011 show seasons. Marco left the RCAF in 2011 and began his commercial flying career. He is currently serving as a production test pilot for a major aircraft manufacturer.

Marco’s passion for vintage aviation has stayed with him throughout his career.  Honouring his roots, Marco acquired a 1952 Harvard and joined the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, debuting its 4 plane display in 2014. In 2017, Marco joined the Stallion 51 Team as an instructor and has been flying with Ariel and Louis ever since. Marco and his wife Sam reside in Ontario and are proud parents of three mischievous boys.
